Dorf (Village) is a sitespecific sculptural installation in room K54, HFBK Hamburg. It consists of six sculptures, each with an individual story and with individual abilities. It is a reflection on the creation and construction of sculpture; industrially produced forms and materials merge with handcrafted forms. Dorf is the title for this installation focusing
on the conditions of sculpture as a medium, the interrelationships between the individual sculptures in the given space and between the solitary work and the collective work, as well as between the sculpture/s and the viewer
in the spatial encounter with the installation. It encompasses the distances between the sculptures and the demarcations of space, as well as possible interpretations of figurative motifs and abstraction.
